Nerve glide
Neurodynamics
Treating nerve as the moving, sliding tissue it is, restoring glide where it has been lost.
What it is
Nerves are not passive wires; they slide and stretch as you move. When a nerve loses that glide, or becomes sensitised where it passes through a tunnel or between muscle layers, it can produce pain, pins and needles or weakness some distance from the actual problem. Neurodynamic assessment tests that mobility directly, and treatment restores it with graded sliding and tensioning techniques rather than aggressive stretching.
What a session looks like
- 01Neurodynamic testing to identify which nerve is involved, and where it is restricted.
- 02Graded slider or tensioner techniques, dosed to how irritable the nerve is.
- 03Treatment of the interface: the muscle or joint the nerve passes through.
- 04A home glide routine, which matters more here than almost anywhere else.
Other treatments
- Manual TherapyPrecise hands-on mobilisation that gives stiff, guarded joints their range back.
- Dry NeedlingFine needles into the trigger point, for deep pain surface work cannot reach.
- Therapeutic TapingKeeps the correction working long after the session ends.
- Aqua TherapyBuoyancy takes the load off, so you move far earlier.
- Clinical PilatesControl and strength work that turns a pain-free range into a resilient one.
